Please be informed that due to the sudden increase in the volume of applications being received by their office, subscription installation dates have been adjusted.

SAMPLE OF REQUIREMENTS SUBMITTED: 

1) Copy of   TIN ID with 3 signatures  :

3) Picture of  Converge box connection around your area (found around the Beneco electric post) 

4) Photos of your home ( front and entrance) 

5) Photo of your location through Google Map or draw your location with landmarks for easier access to your location for installation.

            Once you submitted all your requirements to your agent, they will be the one to register you online, so just wait for updates from Converge, it's either in your email or a message on your phone. 

There are 9 steps in processing your application online:

1.  Registration is done by an agent (May 26, 2020)

2. Converge will give you your reference number 

to check your application  status   (May 26, 2020)

2. Submission of documents (May 26, 2020)

3. Validation of documents -maximum of 3 days (May 27,2020)

4. Payment worth Php4000 for installation and deposit fee ( May 29, 2020)

5.Payment validation 

Submit Photos of your payment to your agent 

* Note: 

-don't pay anything to your agent 

-you need to pay worth of Php4000(installation and initial deposit) to any legit Bayad Centers (directly pay to CONVERGE ICT. Account )

-need to wait for payment notice from CONVERGE before paying ( they will give you your account number)

6. Job order Creation and  installation schedule - maximum of 10 days to wait due to COVID pandemic (June 1, 2020) 

7. Reservation of  port installation ( June 2, 2020)

8. Installation of your port and modem (location) (June 3,2020)

9. Giving Feedback  for their service (June 3, 2020)

            My Converge application and installation took me 2 weeks. One week for waiting for my agent to come and get my documents but was not able to push through due to the bad weather so she decided to register me online and that took me another 8 days to finish my application and installation. I was lucky enough that my installation was successful. The port available in my area was the only and last one. If it happened that there is no slot in the port, then they will cancel and refund my application then wait for another box to be available in my area. 

            The installers were nice and friendly, they also checked my internet speed after installation and so far the download speed and upload speed was 24 Mbps. To check further how fast the connection was, we opened 4 phones and 1 laptop and watch youtube at the same time. We were testing if there could be lags, buffers, and connection interruptions but it's all good.

DO FREELANCERS AND ONLINE SELLERS IN THE PHILIPPINES NEED TO PAY TAX TO BIR ? | BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE- REVENUE MEMORANDUM 2020

     During this pandemic crisis, a lot of workers were laid off, some were permanently removed from work, and presently unemployed. Many businesses had closed and went bankrupt while other establishments are still struggling to recover their losses. A lot of people seek opportunities and one of their alternatives is to go online and make money to survive. Most of them go to freelancing, online selling, e-commerce business, and any form of online business that they can try. 

        Amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Republic of the Philippines Department of Finance-Bureau of Internal Revenue received and signed a memorandum that any business forms or transactions through Electronic Media and Platforms and to unregistered Businesses must ensure to register pursuant to the provision of Section 236 of the Tax Code. In simple terms, Online Sellers, Freelancers, and any E-commerce businessmen need to register their businesses this time.

        This Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 60-2020 was received by BIR on June 10, 2020, at 2:30pm. Those who will register their businesses not later than July 31, 2020, shall not have the penalty for the late registration. All those who will not register, comply,  update their business transactions, and don't declare due  taxes shall be imposed with applicable penalties. 

        To those newly registered businesses, and existing registrants need to comply with the provisions of the Tax Code such as:

1. Issuance of Registered Sales Invoice or Official Receipt 

2. Keeping of Registered Books of Accounts and other accounting records of business transactions. 

3. Withholding of taxes, as applicable;

4. Filing of required tax returns; and 

5. Payment of correct taxes due on time. 

The Certificate of Registration shall be issued upon compliance with these requirements: 

        According to CNN Philippines on June 11, 2020;  the Malacanang clarified that not all online sellers will pay taxes but still required to register in BIR. As per Mr. Chua, annual earnings of 250,000 and below are not subjected to pay taxes ( Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act) but those earning 250,000 pesos and above must pay their taxes. 

        The Presidential Spoke Person Harry Roque said that the funds for the COVID 19 are from the BIR and Bureau of Customs and due to the increasing demand for the COVID budget, the government will continue to find ways to increase the intake of taxes. 

        Our government really needs taxes to operate and fight the COVID 19, but  BIR is delayed to collect this year due to extended due dates for those affected businesses.  However, some business owners especially small businesses are still chasing their losses and still need to pay a bunch of bills and taxes, it is really saddening to see the situation where everyone is struggling to cope up with those collections needed to be paid on time for the next coming months.
