            Once you submitted all your requirements to your agent, they will be the one to register you online, so just wait for updates from Converge, it's either in your email or a message on your phone. 

There are 9 steps in processing your application online:

            My Converge application and installation took me 2 weeks. One week for waiting for my agent to come and get my documents but was not able to push through due to the bad weather so she decided to register me online and that took me another 8 days to finish my application and installation. I was lucky enough that my installation was successful. The port available in my area was the only and last one. If it happened that there is no slot in the port, then they will cancel and refund my application then wait for another box to be available in my area. 

            The installers were nice and friendly, they also checked my internet speed after installation and so far the download speed and upload speed was 24 Mbps. To check further how fast the connection was, we opened 4 phones and 1 laptop and watch youtube at the same time. We were testing if there could be lags, buffers, and connection interruptions but it's all good.

DO FREELANCERS AND ONLINE SELLERS IN THE PHILIPPINES NEED TO PAY TAX TO BIR ? | BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE- REVENUE MEMORANDUM 2020

     During this pandemic crisis, a lot of workers were laid off, some were permanently removed from work, and presently unemployed. Many businesses had closed and went bankrupt while other establishments are still struggling to recover their losses. A lot of people seek opportunities and one of their alternatives is to go online and make money to survive. Most of them go to freelancing, online selling, e-commerce business, and any form of online business that they can try. 

        Amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Republic of the Philippines Department of Finance-Bureau of Internal Revenue received and signed a memorandum that any business forms or transactions through Electronic Media and Platforms and to unregistered Businesses must ensure to register pursuant to the provision of Section 236 of the Tax Code. In simple terms, Online Sellers, Freelancers, and any E-commerce businessmen need to register their businesses this time.

        This Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 60-2020 was received by BIR on June 10, 2020, at 2:30pm. Those who will register their businesses not later than July 31, 2020, shall not have the penalty for the late registration. All those who will not register, comply,  update their business transactions, and don't declare due  taxes shall be imposed with applicable penalties. 

        To those newly registered businesses, and existing registrants need to comply with the provisions of the Tax Code such as:

1. Issuance of Registered Sales Invoice or Official Receipt 

2. Keeping of Registered Books of Accounts and other accounting records of business transactions. 

3. Withholding of taxes, as applicable;

4. Filing of required tax returns; and 

5. Payment of correct taxes due on time. 

The Certificate of Registration shall be issued upon compliance with these requirements: 

        According to CNN Philippines on June 11, 2020;  the Malacanang clarified that not all online sellers will pay taxes but still required to register in BIR. As per Mr. Chua, annual earnings of 250,000 and below are not subjected to pay taxes ( Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act) but those earning 250,000 pesos and above must pay their taxes. 

        The Presidential Spoke Person Harry Roque said that the funds for the COVID 19 are from the BIR and Bureau of Customs and due to the increasing demand for the COVID budget, the government will continue to find ways to increase the intake of taxes. 

        Our government really needs taxes to operate and fight the COVID 19, but  BIR is delayed to collect this year due to extended due dates for those affected businesses.  However, some business owners especially small businesses are still chasing their losses and still need to pay a bunch of bills and taxes, it is really saddening to see the situation where everyone is struggling to cope up with those collections needed to be paid on time for the next coming months.

What is an appointment under a Waiver Program?

1. The age, height, and weight for initial appointment to the PNP may be waived only when the number of qualified applicants falls below the approved national;/regional quota;

2. The NAPOLCOM en banc may grant height waiver to a member of an indigenous group within the region as certified by the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) or Office on Muslim Affairs (OMA);

3. Waiver of the age requirement may be granted only provided the applicant is not less than 20 nor more than 35 years of age;

4. Waiver of the height requirement may be granted to a male applicant who is 1.57m and a female applicant who is 1.52m. A lower height requirement may be set for applicants belonging to an indigenous group as certified by the NCIP.

What are the documents required in filing an application for waivers?

DACLAN SULFURIC SPRING | SIDE TRIP TO MOUNT PULAG

Daclan Sulfur Spring is located at Daclan, Bokod, Benguet, Philippines. It is 2 hours away from Baguio City and this place is a nice side trip to Mount Pulag via Ambangeg Trail.

The Ibalois called this spring as "Badekbek" meaning boiling water. It is also declared as a dead volcano. Upon arriving in the area, you can smell the sulfur dioxide gas escaping into the air and it's like a rotten egg. 


It is believed that sulfur has a lot of health benefits. Sulfur is a natural mineral found primarily in hot springs and volcanic craters.


The tourist attraction has no entrance fee and no watchers staying around, so be careful when stepping closer to the muddy sulfur spring especially those boiling holes, you might step on them accidentally.

Ambuklao Dam is a hydroelectric facility in Ambuclao, Bokod, Benguet, Philippines that provides 105 megawatts of electricity to Luzon grid. It can store water to a maximum of 327,170,000 cubic meters. The source of the water is from the Agno River that comes from Mount Data.

The dam was opened on December 23, 1956, and the cost of the construction was 132 million pesos. The owner of the dam is National Power Corporation. It was then called the longest and highest dam in East Asia.

Ambuklao Dam is 36 kilometres away from Baguio City and the travel time is around 1 hour and 30 minutes. It depends if there is no traffic along the way or how many times is your stopover.

It is a great place to take your selfie and groupie photos.

This dam is considered a tourist attraction in Bokod, Benguet, Philippines. Tourist can drop by here to have a 

picnic and boating. You can enlist this place also as a side trip if you plan to hike in Mount Pulag via Ambangeg Trail.
